The evening light, thick and golden, struggled through the white window cover of rented room, painting pale light across the mostley clean bedroom. The air hummed with the lazy drone of the Ac unit as Helen called from her room."Star," her voice cut through the quiet, a little hesitant. "You got a second?" "It'll only take a minute. I need... An opinion." That got his attention. He closed the laptop with a soft click and swung his legs off the couch, padding toward her doorway. He leaned against the frame, arms crossed over his chest. Helen stood in the middle of her small room, surrounded by a chaos of discarded clothes and new, unworn lingerie under a small shift like dress. She was wearing a set of deep blue, delicate lace that barely contained her. She gestured vaguely at her body. "What do you think? Does this... Fit right? Does it look okay?".
