The film portrays the rehearsals of a theatrical play in which the methodology used by the director is the liberation of the senses,[citation needed] which he called "metapraxis". In these rehearsals, the young actors will do everything to compete for the main role. The "metapractical" method, based on improvisations and laboratories, generates conflicts between the director, Nenê Garcia, and the others involved in the production.
