In the context of North-South exchanges, Europe is sending young people to work in North Africa with the mission of transforming a riad into a multi-ethnic cultural center, a sort of rural area where many students will live together.
Lucas, a young Frenchman, embarks to Marseille to spend his holidays in the land of the Arabian Nights. Penniless, he travels in last class. On the boat, he meets Karim, a young Nomad back home who owns a small one-eyed hotel near the souk, in the medina of the capital. The latter offers the backpacker to host in his luxurious cabin, making him discover the Arab hospitality without forgetting its local customs.
